Boycotting the game will just show the, money managing execs that it's not worth making the game for the PS3. Companies are there to make money the extra resources will be put into the system that will sell the most copies. This is not a new concept the Xbox and the gamecube were much more powerful then the PS2, but most if not all third party games were made on the PS2 then ported to the others.

Skid Row Trash both system are Multi Core, the problem is that the 360 has a much more flexible memory architecture, the PS3 has a bottleneck in the memory. We can say all the bad stuff about MS, god knows I do, but they are more experienced at computer hardware, OS and networking. The short and sweet is that the 360 can put more memory to be used by the graphics processor or by the system when need be. Another thing is the OS on the 360 uses about 1/2 the memory as the PS3 OS.

The reason is because the Xbox 360 has all the power in 1 processor or something, whereas the PS3 has all the power split into 2 processors. Games are made to run on the 360, but then have to be re-done because the 360 could handle it no problem, but all that power has to be split for the stupid ass PS3, and it doesn't work all that great doing it this way, obviously/

I believe that PS3 is the superior console in hardware and software ability and that it truly does come down to the developers. I think we all need to realize that these companies are out to make money and the concept when making money in America is spend the least to make the most. That's why a good majority of non-asia developed games are designed around the X-box, because they don't have to go the extra distance to make something great. It's almost like these developers are looking for a one hit wonder like musicians. looking at the more stable developers you begin to see the difference, for example EA games, mostly makes sport games, that is what their known for. But their is virtually no huge change from game to game, the graphics improve by about 1% and they update the players, which they could do via DLC. I would almost guarantee that they just pull out a template of some kind. Now on the asian front you have companies like Square-enix, who takes as long as it takes to create something original and pushed to the limits, the problem with pushing it to its limits is that when you then try to port it to something with less capability in the required areas the game suffers in quality. It all comes down to money and patience. we all realize that PS3 is expensive and it has indeed taken awhile to get the game line up moving, but its more about the desired quality of games and when gamers seek true perfection its the developers for sony that I think we should turn to.

Alan Wake doesn't even look all that good, hell Killzone 2 still looks better than that. Besides wait til Heavy Rain and God of War 3 hit =) those are games where it's at! And lets not forget somewhere down the road when FF XIII versus comes out that will be THE BEST game ever graphically and gameplay wise

I'm not worried about the quality of the Bayonetta port because apparently Sega and Sony are working together to resolve the issues plaguing the PS3 version. By the time it releases state side the 360 and PS3 version should be near identical so hopefully this will be the last time that we hear about crappy ports cause seriously three years into the console, every developer should have a handle on the technology. The port really isn't Sega's fault since, technically platinum games deserves more of the blame. Seriously don't have the the ability to create an effective port?

It's not a question of power, obviously.
Just not enough work on the PS3 version, pure and simple.

Just rememember the previous console generation. Xbox was clearly much more capable than the PS2. It's specs were much higher, yet 90% of multi-version games were equal or worse on Microsoft's console, when compared to the PS2 version.

I won't support developers that don't respect their clients. Thus... no Bayonetta for me (I will probably get it on the 2nd hand market).
Obviously, I know this will only fuel this vicious cycle: poor PS3 versions - less PS3 sales - less investment on PS3 ports - poor PS3 ports.

I dont understand why this is still being debated. Effort takes money. having extra staff that knows how to use the Cell architecture takes money. These devs arent lazy, theyre restricted. Bayonetta is a new IP, which means it did not get nearly the kind of budgets bigger titles get.

Everything is about money, folks. If we want less shitty games and ports, the costs of producing a game needs to come down. Simple as that. If developers werent so confined by budget, we wouldnt need to have the mass of cookie cutter safe bet games, or games with awful pc/ps3 ports.

Because developers prefer to 360 and PC which are similar to develop for. So all in all, it's down to lazyness.

I have all the 3 main consoles, If a game comes out on the 360 and PS3, I always get the 360 version. I noticed this pattern a while back. I only use the PS3 for exclusives now, not that there's many...

It’s the fact that one of the next gen console is better than the other. The dilemma for developers is to either develop great games or develop of a large install base. And developers have done the latter they have gone after the big bucks and have not played the field evenly short term verses long term. Its now that AAA titles like Uncharted 2, Killzone 2 and God of war 3 and others are here that the realization is clear therefore this article. The gaming community is beginning to realize the true next gen system and the real AAA games. The thing is the large install base argument has faded and real questions are been asked.
